Games will begin from August 25th. All information is in that link. If you would like to register for the tournament, click register and login using your ladder username and password. You will be automatically placed into the tournament.

I'm also interested in feedback. For the championship, would you prefer a Swiss style or Elimination style tournament.

I missed this post.. but I'd agree and say I'd prefer a swiss.

Depends on numbers.

A 5 round swiss for 6 players = ?

Well yeah that would be a round robin. I'm hoping we can get another couple of people before it. 8 would be a nice number for an elimination but 6 .. not so much. I'm not so familiar on how they work but maybe a double elimination could work. Two sets of 4 player round robins even.. Unless we're confined to what the system will let us do.

What is the big rush ?

I think it would be better for everyone to play at least one practice game first to familiarise themselves with the process .

Also a longer lead up will allow for some marketing PR promotion etc .

Maybe even , formal invitations , prizes ,...

Lets not rush this and risk effecting the tournament brand , ... lets make the inaugural champs as big and successful as possible .
