Default Shitty Education Starts With Shitty Parents

While year nines showed improvement in reading and spelling, almost a quarter are below the national average in writing.
It seams to me that the reporter and his sub editor are both innumerate too.

It a technologic ally advanced nation, all citizens should have to complete maths and science to year 12 level. Why is English the only
compulsory subject?

AT parent teacher nights I feel like flogging parents who say, "I was no good at maths/science/XYZ either, so I 'm not that surprised."

High school success has little to do with kids IQ it is about attitudes to education. Parents should be given 100 hrs of community service every time their normal kid fails a subject.

come off it Matt, I was perfect at low level maths and very quick as well, my hopeless mates are still hopeless they tell me. Just like not all people are suitable for chess. I am useless at mechanics etc but love using my brain. So horses for courses. As well we dont need everyone well educated, most are just needed for manual work or semi skilled work. That is how evolution designed us

btw did I tell you I am an elitist who does not rear end

>5% of people are clinically mentally disabled, about 5% have a specific cognitive condition that prevents them from understanding numbers beyond 3. The rest can do maths IF they try. Same for chess. Any normal person can/could get a rating of 1000 to 1400 without any study, playing once a week.

A good education is useful not only for the great works it allows us to complete, but also for the idiocies it stops us from commencing. It is not the low IQers who have stuffed up civilization, it is the poorly educated (which includes many smarty pants) who vote in ignorance.

I am not talking of indoctrination, I am talking education. -V-, you need a another pair of glasses - yours are blurring your vision between the two method of passing on information.

I think adolocence male education should include practical experience with ladies so they dont turn out like introverted/inhibited top chess players - they should be in like Flynn like we lower-rated and lower-class Neathandals

I agree education, education must really starts at home and parents are supposed to be responsible for it. If Parents failed to guide their children properly it could lead to a big problem. Please allow me to share a story I've read in an article, this is an example of what our children could be when we misguide them. A bank robbery was thwarted Tuesday in Westminster, Colo.. The supposed robbers were later discovered to be mom and daughter. Article source: Mother and daughter bank robbers arrested in Colorado. As adults and parents we are supposed to teach our children to be a good member of our society.
