Hi Amir
Before I go on with my suggested list, don't forget to visit the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground if and when the glorious champions Collingwood FC are playing there! The atmosphere is fantastic!

As for hotels from personal experience I suggest my beloved Grand
Hyatt
- 123 Collins Street for very special occasions

and the surprisingly classy
The Adelphi Hotel and Spa (Flinders Lane just a 100 m walk from Flinders Street train station).

I think of more suggestions!

Last time i went to melbourne i got lost and ended up stopping off at a shopping centre for lunch trying to find the suburb of Thornbury. But it was definately fortuitous as i did indeed witness two pigeons attempting to copulate in the shopping centre car park.

So with that in mind I recommend visiting the excellent shopping hub that is the Northcote Plaza.

I give it 2 Thumbs up. !!!

Thanks Fatty, BTW Thornbury is just a couple of tram stops down the road (High St) from where you were!
Also note that the Northcote Library, across the road from the shopping centre had a huge collection of Chess books; however, that was in my (mature) student days circa late 90s, so I don't know what happens now!

My Family and I visited Sydney in Year 2003.
Some of the best moments we have on the tape.
We had a great Getaway Holiday.
Sydney Harbour was the most interesting.
I don't know how did we missed Blue Mountains.
"Hawkesbury River" sounds interesting for the "next time" target.
Thanks for the info AC.

Best place in Melbourne is the Departure Lounge.

No more connecting rooms left there.
They saying my kids are not kids, they are adults, sad.
How are the Crown Towers?
