Amir, some gems of sydney are lesser known but fantastic, the Australian Museum, The Art Gallery, the Sydney Botanical Gardens, even the cute historic commercial buildings in the Pitt Street Plaza. The State theatre is worth the ticket money just to see the buiding's interior

3.St Kilda penguins St Kilda Penguins I wasn't able to find a tour link, but I do know that there are organised tours of the St Kilda penguin colony. If you contact the website I am sure you could find out more details. Also it saves a drive down to Philip Island, which is always worth a visit.

4. that's*melbourne*-*Tiamo 2 Tiamo 2 Carlton, Melbourne Inner Suburbs, Italian restaurant review Tiamo 2- Melbourne has many good value cafes, but Tiamo2 has the best pancakes! at exceptional value, always good value for brunch with the kids. Best at about 11am on a weekday sitting outside. Classic!

5. Vegie Bar || Brunswick St It is rumored that most MCC chessplayers, with the notable exception being Frank Lekkas, have dined at the Vegie Bar. Incredible value, always a hit with the ladies! but sssssh don't tell everyone.

6.Queen Victoria Market - Melbourne's Market since 1878 Saturday and Sundays are great! Its open all day, but best in the morning. From South American pipe music to gourmet traditional music. Remember take a tram, don't drive and take lots of carrying bags. Be careful about pick pockets near the carpet sellers, but otherwise fairly safe. Spanish doughnuts always sell out, so make sure you line up early!

7. The Rainbow Hotel

Personally I think the Rainbow is fantastic on a Sunday afternoon. If you like soul music or R+B and just want to chill out with friends its great. Gets packed on a Friday and Saturday. Make sure you enter the main pub because their is no cover cost there. It really is an exceptional music venue.

8. Crown Casino Crown - Wear The Crown There is little doubt that the Casino offers something for everybody. It has some of the best quality restaurants in Melbourne, great cinema and of course gambling. Best on a Saturday night, but good at most times. Just remember, don't even think about getting a cab after midnight.

9. The Astor Theatre - Melbourne - Australia If you like to unwind watching classic films without being rushed this is the place for you. Check out their great assortment of choc-tops ice creams, always a must at Melbourne cinemas.

10. MCC Welcome to the Melbourne Chess Club The greatest chess club in Australia, without exception. Forget about those whining FMs and IMs who look down on the blitz hustlers with their elitist opinions. None of the locals treat any player with respect until they win a club championship. Even the patzers are not a push over at this club. Best on a Saturday afternoon between 2-6pm where you get 7 allegro games for $7. Just make sure you play the infamous Ellie B Beranjia, love him or hate him the guy is entertaining!

The Vegie restaurant sounds interesting, my son would like to take him there?
Perhaps, we will meet Frank Lekas there

Perhaps if you have time for Phillip Island and a zoo, it'll be worthwhile as well.
Lunapark might be good - depends on how old your kids are.

The rooftop cinema season has just finished, but get up there for a drink amidst Melbourne's skyscrapers anyway! A fun bar any day/night of the week. (It's on Swanston St)

Hello Melbourne citizens,
I visited Melbourne last weekend and had great time with the my Family.
I planed to visit the MCC club, but there was a very unlikely chance, as the visit was to short. I tried to come on Monday, but the clubs opening hours hadn't matched well for me. I will be back in August.
We walked around 10-15 km's every day.
We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel with a special promotion, stay one night and 1 night is a free. I enyojed the Gym, sauna, spa and swimming pool facilitys in the Hotel including a rich continental breakfast.
Melbourne City felt like a real big European City from the 1800's.
Of course I didn't have enough time to visit everything but we had a great time and we enjoyed our walk through the Melbourne City.
My best tip would be the Melbourne Museum.
We had a fine time in the National gallery and coffee shop there, Melbourne Gaol, Library, Italian restaurants and shopping at DFO???

However, I would also add that I loved the Macaroon cakes, we even ordered delivery online from Cacao Fine Chocolates and Patisserie – Hand made gourmet chocolates

Melbourne is a great place to visit. Melbourne provides good Accommodation for tourists. it is good to know there are many attractions and events in Melbourne such as Melbourne City Circle Tram, Flinders Street Station, National Gallery of Victoria, Royal Botanic Gardens, and Queen Victoria Market. i know only these famous places of Melbourne.
