Here are my picks and why.
Geelong 1-4 Have they a premiership hangover. Are some of their stars aging. Saint Kilda 1-4 They were awesome in last years home and away games. Will they be even better this year. bulldogs 1-4. They now have a power forward in Barry Hall. If he fits in and Akermanis hits his straps anything is possible. Hawthorn 1-9. They are far fitter this season than last year. They may be a little weak in the ruck and may be a tall defender short but they have a tribe of talented youngsters who could improve. Collingwood 2-6. They are brilliantly coached and always have a red hot go. I do not think that they have as much talent as the teams above them but they are very sound. May be good enough to lose a Grand final. Adelaide 5-9 The enormous home ground advantage should give them a good position in the eight after the home and away games. But will their aging stars be able to last one more campaigne. Brisbane 5-9 Again they have a massive home ground advantage. If Brown and fevola fire anything could happen. Carlton 5-9 getting rid of Fevola has to be a long term positive but it may cause short term pain. Essendon 8-12 Rebuilding Port 8-12 rebuilding Eagles 8-12 rebuilding. Swans 8-12 rebuilding North 8-16 they could surprise on the upside. Freo 13-16 something is wrong with Freo but I dont know what it is. Richmond 13-16 They must drive their fans to distraction. They do not seem to be able to get their act together. Melbourne 13-16 They have to start improving sometime.
