What do you guys think of Mubaraks refusals to step down immediately? As much as that country wants change, 15 days of protest is really going to screw up their economy if this continues. I cannot imagine what kinds of losses business owners must be taking in Cairo & Alexandria.

I fear that any scenario of Mubarak either staying or departing will screw up economy. On the other hand, wasn't it screwed up before the uprising?

I am quietly confident and happy that any new government there will not be a friend of Israel.

They will, 1967 was a good lesson! (plus a few additional tutorials for slow learners later on!)

Why so? I apologize for the ignorance but I do not know any of the issues surrounding Israel.

well the previous lackey to the current one was Presi Sadat who got knocked off for signing a peace treaty with Israel - Israel is concerned that if the opprssive lid is lifted off, the true feelings of the people concernng the Israel blockade of Gaza and other Israeli Nazi tactics will get what they deserve

Iconoclast (as well as A/C) hates Israel with passion (even though he can't rationally defend or explain it - see here) He even acknowledged once not having a clue.
His logic (sorry for using oxymoron) calls for the war between Egypt and Israel, even though I can't see anyone who would benefit from it (apart from very few terrorist leaders).

I hope new Egyptian leaders will have a little bit more of a common sense then Icon.

I hope the new leaders get nukes! Nothing makes a bully back off faster than a gun pointing at them. That is common sense.

yeah stealing other people's land is certainly a good lesson - just as Hitler stole from the Jews during the Holocaust

I don't think Icono hates Israel. Do you think anyone who advocates the Palestinian two state solution is a hater of Israel?

anything can be twisted any way to get any desired convoluted outcome. Like I could even love you if the price was right

If you go through Israeli-Palestinian thread you'll see that hi is an extremist apologist for terrorists rather then mere supporter of two state solution.

Oh okay. Looks like Mubarak isn't going to step down. I wonder if there will be a coup. I am getting SICK and tired of this taking over the media in the US
