Default Hello There

I'm a Correspondence player who began playing during the 1980's but I gave up because I had no hope of competing against players with well stocked game libraries and collections of games that I just didn't have access to. Times have changed and I now have a well stocked library of my own as well as a databse of over X million games and I have now been playing CC again for 5 years or so. I follow all the major tournaments and always look forward to downloading games from TWIC site every tuesday. I have always believed that the game of Chess is both an art and a science so I chose CC mainly due to my love of theory. It doesn't always mean that I win games because I follow theory but I also enjoy games against people who are determined not to follow theory at all. Sometimes, these kinds of games are far more interesting as I find that I have to think along completely new lines, unless my opponent makes a bad move or even a whole bunch of them! I don't ascribe to the regular vs postal player thing as we both can learn from each other and history has shown that CC play has contributed quite a lot to OTB theory. Besides, I love both forms of the game equally but I have never really been in a position to join a club which was another determining factor in my choice of CC. Anyway, that's me.....

Hello Apollo,

My name is Alex and I am very pleased to meet you. I'd love to play a correspondence game against you, maybe one move a day, if you are up for it?

Alex
