Shoutbox Hacking - OzChess

It appears the shoutbox might have been hacked last night.

I am not usually on at nights, but I do know that Inferno Shoutbox is not infallible to hacking attempts, and other users of it have reported security issues in the past.

Hopefully no real harm was done!

If anyone wants to fill me in further as I wasn't on at the time, please feel free. I don't know how often I will be in over the next week.

OzChess' shoutbox after mid-night is starting to remind me of Surfers or Fortitiude Valley on the weekends, loud boarish louts and the police trying to keep the peace.

Kind of funny to have that on a small chess forum, but I digress.

My view is that we have no ban-quotas here; just use the moderation queue to cool things down for a bit.

I let him back in as the risk has now been minimized.

It was not a vexatious ban, as demonstrated by its brevity.

We simply needed to assess the situation to make sure any shoutbox hacking threat had been neutralized.

You fool, I gave you a hint in the shoutbox. You only lift your ban on him if CC lift their ban on you. Like the Palestinians and Israelis do. God Almighty, I would not have you represesnt me for 5 secs. You deserve to be in no-man's-land.

Plus you should have made him apologise to Starter/Moz for Mop and Bucket repetition of moves.

Actually, he was born in Queensland - Gladstone if I recall correctly. I passed through there on a train once from Townsville to Brisbane. Seemed a quaint sleepy little town.
