Default V7 #2 March/April 2009...now delivered to subscribers

I have been enjoying the read of my copy.
  • Charles' usual terrific report of the Queenstown Classic.
  • Gary Lanes column on greatest tricks is a nice cross-promotion.
  • The Sandman reports on the Australian Masters with some nice pics of the cupboards in the back room of our Club.
  • FIDE ratings to help a/c with his question
  • Great col. by JP Wallace
  • Wonderful bit on the history of telegraphic chess.
  • And, finally, I turned to page 57 for the parochial news from Melbourne. You know, I had no idea we were involved.

Default Australian Chess magazine : Vol. 7. Edition #5.

I have been enjoying the read of my copy.
  • Charles' usual terrific report, this time the 2009 Oceanic Zonal.
  • FIDE Rating list for July 2009; Aus. highlights
  • 2009 Gold Coast Open and the FREYTAG Weekender
  • Games column by Max Illingworth
  • And then the super-highlight for the year; in fact may be the best article of the decade. It starts on page 48 and is written by Roger Nokes.
My head was swimming at this point at the force and clarity of thinking of the Nokes article. Thanks Brian Jones for commissioning (or printing this one) and thanks to the author. I know one other really interested reader of this sort of item; the ACF Prez.
  • And lots of regular features.

Why such a small image? I'd like a bigger picture if you have one

It is very appropriate to release the issue with the picture of Ian Rogers on the front cover. The 1960 Hobart born chess wizard was Australia's highest rated player for over 20 years.

Superbear obviously read the first post in this thread about the September/October 2007 issue and responded to it rather than responding to post #40 about the current 2010 issue.

Ax is obviously referring to the cover of the current issue shown in post #40 above.
