FANTASTIC! That how you can make more punters happier - they can quote their highest number

Yes, I was actually. A Club Treasurer this time.

I was thinking from a Marketing viewpoint!
And that is how I expected you to view my Treasurer comments.

Thumbs up Australasian Chess Magazine

Yesterday at the Brisbane Chess Club I had a chance to look through an Australian Chess Magazine (now called the Australasian Chess magazine). Its very well put together and clearly a lot of thought and effort has been put into it. I think I may become a subscriber very soon.

Its my understanding that the May issue of Australasian Chess magazine has just recently been released (which isn't surprising because today is 2 May 2008), and from what I've heard there is even a feature article with Australia's newest Grandmaster Zhao.

If you'd like more information on the magazine or obtaining a copy of the latest edition, I recommend you Private Message Brian Jones.

Best

No don't PM me, I would prefer an email to info@chessaustralia.com.au

Or subscribe at http://www.chessaustralia.com.au/ind...nes&site=chess

PS. Why have I such a small quota on attachments. My blue cover is only 46k and is 11k too big!
OK - fixed now - see cover below!

Default It is almost ON THE MOVE

Hey, how good is the latest Australian Chess....vol 6 #4

Pages 6 to 22 are Victorian in outlook.
Page 33 contains a Victorian promise.

Next month ...can we look forward to a Fludey report on the Vic Open and a pic of the Siren of Sofia?

I'm still waiting for Fludey's report (with games from the Sandman) but can you please send me a photo of the Siren of Sofia!

Here is the cover of 6/4:
Or there would be if I had some kind of decent quota that worked!

So instead the green cover can be seen at www.chesssaustralia.com.au (top RHS)

Default Busy, busy, busy.

With all the chess activity on at the moment it must be hard for the bill posters to put up their advertising of a new issue in all the nooks and crannies.
So, I will help out by noting that the November/December issue (6/6 of 2008) is now on the newstands and bookshops...with a blue cover.

The metricians amongst us head for the rating report in the magazine where there is a bevy of tabular stuff. I like the BUSIEST players section. In this edition there are 7 who get a mention. Top Australian is Domagoj Dragicevic on 55 games. Of the 7 mentioned 5 have been Box Hill members (Domagoj Dragicevic, Bobby Cheng, Eugene Schon, Sally Yu, Mehmed Dizdarevic...bold are current).
Mexicans are doing well.

A screen shot won't allow you to read the articles. I suggest simply purchasing the magazine.

Or you could go to your local news agent and simply browse the magazine without paying for it!
