Croydon Chess Club restarts on Thursday 26th January.

2012 Calendar:

New Structure for 2012:

6pm - 7pm____________Junior Club

– Friendly games, fun tournaments* and instruction for beginners.

7pm – 7.30pm_________Junior and Senior Coaching*

- Separate coaching for juniors and seniors*. $2 per coaching session.

7.30pm – 10.30pm_____Senior Club

- Regular tournaments* and casual games.

Reasons for the new structure:
1. To provide the opportunity of regular coaching for our adult players (<1500) as well as our juniors.
2. To provide coaching for more advanced juniors who will now be able to join the Senior coaching group.
3. To give juniors greater time playing chess (6pm - 7pm). In the past, junior coaching has cut into playing time.
4. To give the more advanced juniors the chance to attend coaching and then play in senior tournaments.

Membership Fees (per year):

Children: __$40 __($20 for the 2nd child, $0 for others)
Adults: __$60
Students and Concession: __$40

Other fees:

Attend coaching session $2
Entry to member-only ACF rated tournaments: $10
Non-member casual attendance: $5

Coming up in the next few weeks:

Thursday 26th Jan

6pm ___Junior club – Blitz tournament - Rounds 1-3
7pm____Junior coaching only
7.30pm_Senior club – Annual General Meeting / friendly games

Thursday 2nd Feb

6pm_____Junior club – Blitz tournament – Rounds 4-6
7pm ___ Junior Coaching only
7.30pm _Senior club – friendly games / new members welcome

Thursday 9th Feb

6pm_____Junior club – Fixed Openings tournament R1
7pm____ Junior and Senior Coaching
7.30pm_ Senior Club – The President's Cup (60min/30sec) R1
