I notice some of the best tech-savvy have got involved in the sleuthing (in particular HBK). If the culprit is bright enough to be hiding behind a proxy then a tech-savvy sleuth may be a necessity.

The rest of us are left like Poirot looking at the text and making of it what we can.
This piece of text caught my eye "u are definately not an...".
Why?
Because >>So, who spells with the 'a'?

Plug it into Ozchess advanced search and find......

Fatty Owls for one.
But others also.

As Ax says ..."we may be looking at a false flag".

Or even Murder on the Orient Express - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

MOZ, I am one of them who writes: "definately".

I had no time to write such emails as I had to prepare myself for the Pitbull concert in Brisbane.

Could it be possible that the suspect is from a European background? Europeans often make such mistakes and most people who learned German at school.

Hm?

I would definitely never spell "definitely" as definately, but I have noticed that this particular word is misspelled one way or another by half the chess playing (and forum posting) population in Australia!
"I would of", "there instead of "their" etc are other literary distortions which have established themselves as the rule rather than the exception these days!

cheers,
In all cases (publication or non publication of slandering / defaming posts) depending or non depending on slandered / defamed person's will, a complicated and time consuming prodedure would be required. ie and in case of postings:
  • Posting is received
  • Posting is examined by mod a,
  • posting is re-examined by mod b,
  • sometimes due to its complexity administrator's - owner's opinion is required
  • emailing / PM ing person concerned for approval or disapproval of publication
  • finally allowing or disallowing publication!

phew!!! I, more and more tend to agree with Grant's signature; I would only add "kick the anonymous slanderous bastards out of the forums"!

JaK, out of deference for what just happened in Norway, I would ask that you please reconsider your avatar.

It's unloaded
I would only use it for self defence
In the Oslo events I would have gotten the bastard before he 'd gotten me!

Perhaps you should say this way:

"kick the non-anonymous slanderous bastards out of the CC forum"

With these you will not have so many anonymous posters.

We don't have 'anonymous slanderous bastards' at this forum unless they come from the dark side to stir up trouble.

..btw. JAK this post is not pointed towards you or many others prominent CC members.

Hey Amir how are you?
Kick all slandering bastards of both forums out! (Expose them first)!
I don't distinguish between forums because I am not here as a representative of CC, I am here as a member of Ozchess!
Let me also remind you that I 've been subjected to anonymous trolling by low life characters but I will get them one day don't you worry about it!
After all (although I don't know the exact statistics) there must be a sizeable number of posters who belong to both Forums!
Looking forward to see you soon in QLD (or wherever else, in Melbourne maybe?).
From now till early January and the Aus Championships I will be mostly overseas so it will be difficult for me to know times and places, but I will definitely come to one of your weekenders in Gold Coast next year!
My best regards to Mrs Karibasic and the kids!

I will be glad to see you in Melbourne for the MCC Cup Weekender Amir.
As for whoever tried to "slander" you out of organising such wonderful tournaments as the one I participated, don't let them claim a win against you!
People who are ready to put their money where their mouth is, will support and stand by you, because everyone has witnessed the love and care you 've exhibited in organising 2010 GC Chess Festival and other events.

So give it another go!

well even in that case, at least one of the previous four is required.
I mean the approval / disapproval seeking e-mail cannot be sent by itself!

Default Freedom of speech on OZchess hooray

The privacy of people sending emails or private messages I compare to the priests in the Catholic confessional. It was sort of re-inforced in a case a few years back that the confidentially holds up even if it involved a crime of murder being confessed.

But lo & behold times change. When it was learnt that priests were confessing to paedofilia to get a clean conscious but the priest hearing the confession were keeping it confidential, now there are rumbings that any such confessions of crime have to be reported to the law enforcement authorities.

I think the same should go for privacy of content of private messages on this site - if of a serious nature or abusive etc then let the sender beware.

KB eat your heart you!
