I see a lot of discussion about Tornelo as a comparison with other programs like swiss manager and swiss perfect.
I own a copy of the registered Swiss Manager and I use it. So, I can comment on, even better than Garvin and Kevin Bonham. I can say that it is easy to enter the players, it looks complicated and takes time to overcome. With Swiss Manager is a major problem, if someone does not know how to change pairings, if they are already declared, for example: a player has asked for a bye but the arbiter included him in the pairing system for the next round. One problem in swiss manager that can happen that Results recorded in the Arbiter's computer are not appearing on the Internet. We had this problem in the 2010 Gold Coast Chess Festival with "add points system for the 3-1-0 system" would not match online. In the last month, I have received e-mail by Mr. Herzog (swiss manager founder) that problem with 3-1-0 system is solved. So that is all what is the difficult. TORNELO is very easy to use and has an advantage over all other programs. I never read any instructions, it's not needed, everything in Tornelo is so simple. Swiss perfect vs TORNELO is like old man to compare with young man in the sprint on 100m. In TORNELO is very easy to change the pairings + live games recording or entering the games is much easier. ![]() I think that arbiters for the upcoming FIDE seminar should introduce the TORNELO. It's only a matter of time when the TORNELO will become No.1 program for the chess tournaments and approved by FIDE. Perhaps, Chess Guru could run additional session. Dear all, I discovered in your posts a reference to the so called Amalfi system. Mr Scott Colliverr posted that he heard something about it in 2009, but he has not idea what it is. I proposed it to FIDE and currently it is used in some tournaments here in Italy. A couple of italian pairing software (Vega and JavaPairing) are already able to manage tournaments using it as pairing system. People interested to receive the pairing rules can contact me at the following address:
