Default On The Move

Is the latest issue of "On the Move" available as a PDF to download? If so where?

I just looked at it and am missing something. Why were the letters interesting?

You're obviously missing the references to certain people in the Victorian chess scene ... which generally are less-than-flattering ...

I was looking at the March edition. It was basically letters from amateurs wanting to know how to get better at chess.

This is what it may look like on the surface, but the names & facts mentioned have been chosen to refer to particular people ...

That was funny as it stands. It wound be a slide splitter if I knew who all the actual unnamed individuals and hangers-on were. PM me.

hehe c'mon try harder! If you concentrated a bit more on the forum's chess matters instead of solving the world's problems you 'd 've guessed straight away!

BTW Matt, reading On The Move which was awarded the Koshnitsky Medal for journalism by the ACF mob at the Aus Open Champs earlier in the year in this forum is like reading the Talmud in the presence of Bin Laden or Adolf Hitler whichever suits you best!

Technically it was Cordover who got the award ... of which being editor of 'On the Move' was part of the reason for being given the award ... rather than the magazine itself getting the award.

The technical difference matters in this case methinks ...

David Cordover has done a lot of significant and wonderful things for chess in Victoria. I think he deserves several awards for his hard work and contributions.

That part is absolutely correct and I admit I used it for populistic effects; however, there is no reference to David in Matt's or my posting. His (Matt's) query is about a specific article published in the specific magazine. So Matt was caught reading Mein Kampf in the Synagogue!

Default "On the move" arrived on the Gold Coast

Thanks to Chess Guru for posting ON THE MOVE news letters to the Kings of chess club on the Gold Coast.
The club players asked me on the last Saturday if the new issue has arrived, they love to read these very informative pages.

ON THE MOVE will be handed over to the club players on this Saturday.
