Just a reminder that this Saturday, 2nd April from 3-6 we are having our Open day. So come along and play a simul against two current joint Victorian Champions, FM Chris Wallis and FM Dusan Stojic. There are some prizes to win for beating either of them.

Also, free food and drinks will be provided.

Default Noble Park Chess Club Open Day

We had a very successful Open Day at Noble Park Chess Club. We estimate more than 50 people came by to check out the club. Leonid Sandler (Chess Victoria Prez), Elliot Renzies, Peter Tsai and NY Wong were among the many visitors. They had many kind words of encouragement and we thank them for it.

The showcase activity was a simultaneous simul with FM Chris Wallis and FM Dusan Stojic. I think everyone had a bit of fun and after that there was plenty of time for a couple of games of blitz. This was also the perfect setting for Club Prez, Kai Tan, to present to the winners of the Club Championship, shiny new trophies. Photos posted in this thread.

Default Some More!

"It's really crowded inside"! I was told as I entered Noble Park Chess Club's hospitable venue! In the main hall, since the large tournament hall was too small to fit so many players, parents, visitors the two joint Victorian Champions FM Dusan Stojic and FM Chris Wallis were giving simuls to whoever wanted to try their skills vs strong opposition!

It looked that the dreams of the Club's stalwarts Domagoj Dragicevic, Mehmedalija Dizdarevic, Kai Tan and all the other hard workers, materialised once again, as Noble Park CC's image as a sporting and community force keeps on improving day by day!

Noble Park Chess Club's President Kai Tan addresses players, parents and visitors:

Domagoj Dragicevic announces the Club's Open... (details in the thread)

Mehmedalija Dizdarevic; for three days he was visiting schools and community centres promoting the Open Day! The community responded :

Youthful success looks like it's the order of the day for the suburban Club.

Here is Savithri receiving NPCC championship's U1600 trophy:

Here is my friend and comrade in arms Zach Loh proudly exhibiting U1900 success reward!

The title hasn't yet been decided since the joint winners Domagoj Dragicevic and Justin Tan will have a play off match to decide the 2011 Club's champion.

Here we see Dom and Justin holding the trophy!

Don't forget the Club's Newsletter No. 2 coming out on April 9!

Is there a limit on how many kids per family can attend?

Default Noble Park Chess Club newsletter #2

Noble Park Chess Club is very excited about the latest newsletter - we've actually brought forward the issue date. In it you'll find articles on the recently-concluded Club Championship, Noble Park Chess Club teams for the Victorian Inter-club Championship, performance of NPCC members in the Ballarat Begonia Open and finally NPCC's contribution to the Dandenong community on GamesOn Day. We hope you enjoy the read - just click the picture below. Club members were sent the link last night - "Membership has its Privileges" . The next newsletter will be issued next quarter on 18th June.

Don't forget about the Noble Park Chess Club Open starting tomorrow (Sat) at 3:00PM. If you want to play, you need to let Domagoj know (ddragicevic16@gmail.com) or be at the club by 2:45 PM at the latest. Our target is to get to 40 players.
