Yes, some very good ideas were raised. Congrats to everyone who is now on the committee and thanks again to Malcom for his previous 10+ years of committee service

Default MCC Building Fund Raffle 2010

The MCC Building Fund Raffle is on again in 2010, and this year it is even bigger, with 14 coaches donating an hour of coaching as the first prize! Most of the coaches from last year have donated their time once again, and we may even get some more! We also have a few more coaches who have jumped on board this year. There will be several prizes once again, and these will be announced in due course.

The raffle will be drawn on Monday April 19th - 15 minutes before the beginning of the final round of the MCC Championship!

The 2009 MCC Building Fund appeal made possible many structural, safety and cosmetic improvements at the MCC including the following:
-A new electrical switchboard
-A new mural on the outside of the building
-New carpet
-New guttering on the outside of the building
-A new couch
-Updated honour boards
-Repairs to the numerous broken windows
-New required office equipment
-A new website
While safety issues have been addressed first, we hope to spend the money collected from the 2010 raffle on cosmetic improvements at MCC.

First Prize: An hour of coaching from each of the following coaches.
GM Darryl Johansen
IM Guy West
IM Robert Jamieson
IM James Morris
IM Leonid Sandler
FM Michael Baron
FM Bill Jordan
FM Grant Szuveges
Carl Gorka
Jesse Jager
Malcolm Pyke
Pano Skiotis
David Cordover
Frank Meerbach

Other prizes: to be announced

Tickets: $2 per ticket

Enquiries: Grant Szuveges 0401-925-075 or the clubrooms 9416-3149

The first one is the old one, the one I used to find MCC. The second one brings up a search. Is the site down?

Looks like a domain squat to me or deliberate search engine manipulation. Something weird going on. The MCC committee need to realise that this is occurring. That most people will not be able to find their site with a general search through google. Interesting point! Why would somebody do such a thing?

cheers,

Everything's a domain squat to you

It happens when there's an issue with the host/hosting.

I personally don't know much about computers, the internet etc, but the problem has been passed on to those in the committee with some knowledge and hopefully it will be sorted ASAP.

Because this is exactly what was happening with my site in case you've forgotten. And it was because the DNS settings weren't configured well. They're all fine now and the site is up 24/7 as long as the host is running.

As long as that page appears, it's because the pages that the host has are not being forwarded to the url.

That makes sense and no I had not forgotten and yes I have seen this type of thing before with Optus. I just don't know the reason and I never claimed I did, I just like trying to figure out stuff.

cheers,
