Default help with strange chess moves

I'm playing against an opponent in correspondence, we've been playing against eachother for some months now across several different games. We just started a new one and he's thrown some pretty strange moves at me that are not at all beneficial to him, which is completely unlike him.

I play black: 1. d4 nf6 2. d5! c6 3. d6?!! ... This is where we're at now, his moves are completely bizzare and incomprehensible. I'm thinking I might just surrender the e pawn and develop kingside fianchetto rather than doubling on the d file, but I'm not sure. Any advice?

Those are strange moves. Its almost as if he wants you to take that pawn.

However its still early in the game and I wouldn't worry too much about it. What was your next move going to be?

Yeah, just take the pawn and finish him off; the sac serves no purpose at all.

ps: this is how i would annotate it: 1.d4 Nf6 2.d5?! c6 3.d6? exd6! and black has a clear advantage

Not only that, but white has wasted three moves and hasn't developed anything, now he has to play catch up while you can develop at your leisure. Its not your fault he forfeited the initiative.

My advice, just take the d pawn.
