The puzzle only required a person to find the best move, which is Qc7. When you play a game for real life, you don't have a coach there to say - look, a tactic, or look, an outpost for your knight. You have to find the best moves all by yourself without help. But maybe a tactical problem would have been better. Do you have any more puzzles?

I had the some question. Looks like an even position with a slight advantage to white, but a very defendable position for black. Do you have any of your brain destroying puzzles LS? Its been a while, but they are fun to have a go at.

Yes, Qc7! is devastating. This position is the perfect example of asphyxiation!

qc7 is rad but i just woulda have snagged the queen and made black suffer a slow death.
you probily should say 'white to move and find the best move' or somthing because chess puzzles go way beond what you have posted, want proof?,ill guess yes!

if you know this puzzle pls dont answer, dont try to cheat because hopfuly it wont work, this puzzler will require some explanation on the solvers behalf , good luck !

AO i think your question proves my point perfictly! the unhelpful clue that goes with the puzzle is 'white to mate in 4' , the helpful clue is black moves first!!!

this position is out of a real game and is still gona need a how + answer!!!

i hope someone can beat AO and his excellent lateral thinking and al-natural grand master skill to answering this one!!

This kind of puzzle does not interest me because black is hopeless outgunned. No one cares if he gets mated in 4 moves or 40, its a sure thing from this position.

This does not make sense. First you need to understand the rules of chess. Black pawns tend to promote to black pieces, usually a black queen but sometimes a knight.

They cannot promote to a new king or remain a pawn.

....Which one...... No usually when someone posts an answer to a problem straight after a question is asked I assume they are referring to that problem. However using your theory I guess noone could ever be wrong; "Oh no I was answering a ummm different... question"
