Default Danish Gambit Videos

I have been working on these videos on my favorite opening: The Danish Gambit. I was wondering if anyone had any comments, questions or possible improvements in future videos.

YouTube - Danish Gambit Part 1, Introduction
YouTube - Danish Gambit Part 2: The Danish Gambit Declined
YouTube - Danish Gambit Part 3: Obscure 5th moves by black
YouTube - Danish Gambit Part 4: Good Fifth Moves by Black: d6, Nf6, and c6

I got the screen capturing software running after the first video. If you already know the basics of the Danish Gambit, start with the second video.

Thanks,

GM Tartersauce

I am quite fond of the Danish gambit and its cousin, the Smith Morra gambit. What kinds of things can these chess video's teach me?

There is a double echo effect in your Danish Gambit Declined YouTube clip I am not sure if that is two people talking, or if it is simply an echo, but it lowers the quality of the teaching.

Default Thanks for putting the videos on this page

1. From these videos, a player under 1700 can play the Danish Gambit in a tournament game and beat e5 regularly. I also hope that anybody who watches the videos will be able to play the gambit in blitz games.

2. About the double echo or two people speaking. I am not sure what you are talking about. I watched the video again and didn't hear anything except a cheap, low quality microphone. Do you mean at a certain time in the video? I am anxious to find this problem.

Are you really a Grandmaster? Most Grandmasters say to avoid the Danish gambit.

Default No not a GM :(

Im a class A (USCF), but have gained about 200 elo points per year.

I know no grandmasters play the Danish gambit in tournament games, but have any actually said not to play it? If so, who?

I know GM Boris Alterman and GM Hikaru Nakamura both play the gambit in blitz games and simuls.

The Danish Gambit is very popular in Correspondance games and is played by top players like:

N.A. Preo, Kampfhenkel, Firnhaber, J. Barrios Troncoso and Dubini.

I routinely beat my computer (Fritz 8) with the gambit.

Anatoly Karpov drew against the gambit in a rapid tournament

In Nunn's chess openings, the opening is given the evaluation unclear, and Nunn says that "the gambit deserves more respect than it is usually given."

Boris alterman is a master of all gambits, so he would surely play the danish gambit.

Yes, but even Boris has his limitations!

The Danish is an SCT approved opening . A higher recommendation is hard to find.

Yes, but it is not quite as good as the possum, although it is still a distant second, and was a popular choice among SCT before the possum had been discovered!

Axiom, that reminds of me the time ........................ oh never mind my friend, you tell them. We both are surely thinking the same thing.
