Default Hair and humour test...

Allright folks. Are You ready for the famous Giegold 2-3-4 hair and humour test?
You are! Well, let us start then.

* An easy 2-mover, which you no doubt will clear with a smile and not a single hair out of the place:

Mate in two moves.

* Next we will present a 3-mover, which might make you scratch yor head a few times and frown a bit. Once you get the solution, you will laugh aloud.

Mate in 3 moves.

* Finally we come to a 4-mover, which might cause a serious hair loss. After tearing off great tufts of your hair and gnashing yor teeth for an hour or two, you will come to the solution and honk like a goose at the composer's mettle.

Mate in 4 moves.

Mr.Mip,

I suggest you inform as to which colour is to move in each problem, we can work it out ourselves obviously as only one side will have the checkmate but it would save us time if you were to put it up yourself.

I am pretty sure they'd be white to move? With the "broken" puzzles I think they were always just white to move.

I agree, its probably white to move first - but just in case, lets also solve from black's side of the board.

Sorry. Yes they are all white to play and mate in given number of moves. This is the norm and assumed, if not given. Black starting must always be explicitely mentioned, white starting is default.

Hello AO. You need a hint for the easy two-mover??
How's your hair by the way? Need a comb already?
Very well. Make the most 'stupid' move you can think of and smile! ...
