lol "easily"

Yeah endgame puzzles are good, the only bad thing about them is that I suck at them / the endgame in general. lol

Come to melbourne and attend MCC's endgame group I've got a bunch of tutorials on themes like pinning the promoting pawn so that it can't queen.

Well for your puzzle Rxf5 looks interesting.

If Ne4 to cover the rook then Nd5#

and if a waiting move such as Bd5 then Rxf6, Rxf6 Nxd5#

but then I guess if the bishop just moves somewhere else.. like e4 I cant find a checkmate.

You made any more progress?

Well I guess it is only a couple of hours plane trip away. hmmm as much as I'd like to.. I don't think it's going to work but until I can start getting endgame help you need to stop attending these meetings?! Getting an unfair advantage

Yeah it is pretty hard. Where is it from?

One of the MCC members brought in a flier that said mate in 3. He was rated like 1200 so he wanted help. I sat down with a strong player and we were looking through the themes (such as how the king can't move, the rook is pinned to the king by the queen and if the bishop stops defending d5 or d1, the Knight just moves there to mate.

We also know the first move is a rook move.

Pfft I was always under control. I forced you into the losing position
Besides in the second game I couldn't have chosen a much worse line then one you were quite familiar with.

Nice puzzle. I found the winning line after playing with the position a little!
