Good question....I'll be having a look at TWIC and sorting some things out. I think this may be the last endgame group for the year.

If you're struggling to find some games, the London Chess Classic has had quite a few draws in the endings. Maybe look at how they simplified or something.

Look at the short-carlson ending, Larry Christiansen and Mig have been analysing it for about 20 minutes now after 50. Qf4.

Tonight we looked at some endgames with queen and knight v queen and bishop. My game with Frank Lekkas from last night could have resulted in this ending, and coincidentally, the Short-Carlsen ending from the London Classic did as well.

A classic example whih shows the queen and knight working together to attack an undefended king is the game Miles-Korchnoi Buenos Aires 1979.

This will be the last endgame group that I will be attending this year. Anyone is welcome to come along to the MCC to play some games or talk about endgames or anything else to do with chess

But I won't be around until the end of January so I wish anyone who has turned up at the endgame group a merry Christmas and a great new year, and thanks for making Wednesday's at the MCC a stimulating and engaging night:clap:

If anyone has made Wednesday's at MCC a stimulating and engaging night, it's been you. Thank you for running this group Carl!

I will begin chess lessons in Byron in New Year I think, I have been too busy in previous years. G Gardiners mob cover the area but they are expensive, or at least cost some money, so does not cover many schools

The concept of groups discussing things isn't new....we just formalised it a bit at the MCC. The Endgame Group has been successful, and there is no reason why other subjects shouldn't be just as successful, as long as there are some interested and dedicated people to make it happen.

As an example, at the Hastings tournament that's about to start tomorrow, GM Simon Williams is staging a fixed openings event at a pub in Hastings to coincide with his new chess video being launched

Ginger GM

I know that amongst others, a fair amount of titled players will turn up to play in the event.

Have you got anything on winning Queen vs Rook and Bishop or Rook and Knight? Pawns on the board.
