Smile Elections - (January - June 2012)

Its that time of year again were we at OzChess elect new moderators or keep the one's we currently have (who have done a splendid job).

Once again we have the two stages, stage one is a vote on who the moderators will be for 2012, and stage two is a vote of confidence mid-way through the year on 30 June 2012.

The rules are the same as always, you need five posts in the past 6 months to vote. Hydra votes are not allowed unless the main account has not voted.

I would also like to thank the current elected mods for doing such a fantastic job over the past year. Keeping trouble makers in check and spam under control is a tedious task, but one done with skill and grace by Pablito15, Jaydon, and Heartbreak Kid.

I intend to vote for these 3 again if they put up their hand for another term, as I hope they will.

Pablito did a terrific job in demolishing provocative sig file in chess threads, if only that approach was universal on chess sites

And he only had to be asked once

Terrific!

May I suggest a banning for Kevin to kick off the festivities?

What do you hope this will accomplish J2g?

As always, I'm happy to run.

Oh, it would just be fun - that's all.
In any event, you three have my fullest support, and have done a great job so far!

Here is a song to cheer everyone up, and to celebrate everyone putting their hand up for another go!

Greetings,

All the mods are great on Ozchess. I hope they are all re-elected. However, it really would be nice to ban the whole Chesschat moderation crew.
Could earn me a nice little life ban on Chesschat for life, which would be great as I am never posting there again.

your policy speech should be more exact so we know exactly what we are voting for, for e.g. what area will you be more strict? And what likely penalties?

Hehe,

Look, one of you three gun moderators has to step down temporarily to let the goat take ozchess for a test drive. I promise mayhem and lifetime bans for Bonham, Gletsos, Jessop and Rincewind. After the ensuring chaos, we can all have a great laugh at their expense, just like it was meant to be. Then I will voluntarily relinquish the keys and whoever steps down can take over again.

I mean its too good to refuse. If I become a moderator here I get an automatic lifetime ban on Chesschat as dictated by their resident Stalinist, Kevin Bonham. So rather then back down to the bully, isn't it better if we complicate the position and force him to declare his actions?

Speaking of this, are we nominating and voting soon..?
I'd like to kick it off by nominating anyone who 'legally' is able to run and wishes to do so.
Unless of course we can only nominate one person each in which case I nominate Firegoat7.

To my knowledge, only four people have expressed interest in running so far (the three elected mods and Firegoat7). As was the case with LMatheson, however, if an elected mod steps down, their position goes unfilled until the next election.

To do otherwise, as Firegoat7 seems to be proposing, would make a mockery of the election process - which would be undesireable.

Well I guess this is a shout out to anyone else who would wish to express interest before we very shortly enter the polling booth.
