Default New CV Executive

I was very encouraged to hear today the plans of some key new personnel who will stand for CV Executive positions for 2008.
The shortage of resources available in 2007 was always going to hamper the Unity ticket platform. But the 2007 year has seen the coverage of the loss of Gary Wastell to ACF duties.
We can now look fwd to 2008 being a year where the Executive is better resourced.
I think I will be the only BHCC/CJCC committee member (current) standing for a CV position.

Did Chess Victoria lose $15,000 over the past 2 years like the Bill Gletsos led NSWCA?

Well, I can't resist something >>>

Let me say "I would not be standing if I was a Treasurer facing the losses alleged by AO."

Default So who will stand for the Presidency?

So is there any chance of Noble Park, MCC, Dandenong, Elwood (and hopefully even Canterbury) consolidating?

Michael

Do you mean consolidating into the one venue?
For example, we could all rent-share at the Victorian Bridge Association venue in Murrumbeena, with a tremendous gain in nearly all aspects of chess administration. You really should visit that first class venue.

Actually i was not having a venue in mind. I was thinking about sharing "victorian chess" with all clubs having equal say. Actually, the Canterbury venue is really nice and roomy...I am just curious how much of the CV money goes towards it.

I will leave it to the 'ticket' to manage their own publicity and campaign.
I was approached to confirm that I would be standing for the CV Treasurer position; no offer was made to me to join the ticket.

To the best of my knowledge, I am the only BHCC/CJCC Committee member who will be standing for a CV position.

regards

When you are saying that you are the only "current" BHCC Committee member to stand...does it mean that there are other ppl on the ticket who were BHCC committee members previously

It would certainly be very encouraging to see representation from the Victorian Club with the longest history.

Agreed. Unfortunately I do not think scheduling the AGM on its club night is going to help .

There's always something that can be done if the club is willing to be more proactive.

Regardless of which day was chosen for the AGM, it would have probably conflicted with some scheduled activity by some Victorian club. It just so happened that it's the MCC's club night in this case.
