My first post may be in need of correction.... I understand that the current Secretary is considering standing for election.

The 'new ticket' met with Oysters last night. A handover briefing was part of discussions plus a substantial discussion on 'what to do first if elected'.

I took the opportunity to table the doco. to be formally tabled on Monday night, at the AGM...shows a profit just under $2.5k.
The 'ticket' receive this news well...their attention can be better directed to the calendar and Club visits.

In addition to handover briefings, the Pres. took the opportunity to also brief the 'new ticket group' on the ACF rejection of the CV bid for the 2009 Aus. Junior Championships. (A repeat in part of a discussion some weeks back with the BID team; see Aus. Junior thread).
Apparently the ACF 7-2 vote was a reflection of of the fact that the Unity ticket' was being replaced by the 'New ticket group' and there were concerns about continuity of enthusiasm.
Of course, anyone knowing both the outgoing CV chief honcho and the likely incoming CV chief honchoess would know their position on enthusiasm.

That is astounding. So the ACF made up its mind, not on the the details of the bid, but rather, by allowing its own ignorance of the bidders to scare it off.

The SECRET SOCIETY sure needs to keep its incompetence secret.

I agree. It seems to be one of the lamest excuses possible. Surely an organisation is bound by its INSTITUTIONAL contracts, regardless of individuals involved?

cheers Fg7

Well, it is rather lame.
But it is not NEWS.
Here is a post by the ACF VP on the TCG Blog
Denis jessop said...(in commenting on the rejected bid)

.. Meanwhile CV will hold its re-scheduled AGM at which I am given to understand only one of the present CV Committee will stand for re-election. My prediction is that CV will pass for 2009 and put in a much better bid for 2010.
A clear indication that the ACF saw 'continuity' as an issue.

Perhaps a little unfair to Oysters.
He was there to brief on the ACF rejection of the CV bid for the 2009 Juniors. A legit. reason for addressing the gathering. It was then natural for the CLUEDO lady to draw on Oysters recipes for other Mexican dishes.

Default An AGM that was worth waiting for.

A really good AGM.

A new Executive, and even competiton for some positions. A healthy sign.

A report from the special investigator on the 'venue solution for 2007' was tabled.

Many new faces in the delegates.

Look forward to detail in the new President's first newsletter.

Default Cut off the ears of those who inaccurately foretell the future.

I don't think the ACF VP was privy to the incoming President's platform speech, before he made his prediction.

--------------
Interesting that the usual cortege of the ACF VP are calling the quoting of the VP's own words as misinformation.

Here, for a third time are the ACF VP's own words.

Okay

But how does this relate to anything and can you please explain this significance of this statement MOZ? Thanks.

Best

Pres = Katrin Wills

VP = Leonid Sandler

Sec. = Kerry Lyall

Exec. = George Zaprudsky

Exec. = Chris Potter

Treasurer = Trevor Stanning

Auditor = Clive Perrett

One candidate missed election due to another appointment causing non-attendance.

It has been very successful for BHCC/CJCC for the past year.

I am a starter, rather than a finisher.

I will re-look at my passed pawn and see if it is time to push.
