cheers,
It probably is not an an important disagreement fg7.

You and I probably are convinced that the Club structure of Chess Victoria has more to offer than the NSW and QLD structures of individual voting rights.

I was just being a bit pedantic to point out that the CV Constitution is rather more broadly based than 'Clubs needs'.
As a Club member, in Mexico, I am more likely to volunteer to help CV than if I was in NSW, I suspect.

ok, it seems that there is enough dissent to take the case a stage further. I will take the issue to the MCC committee and with their backing will canvas the other club committee's. If a majority of clubs see a problem, then I suppose the next stage is something raised at an AGM.

This morning I talked to Leonid Sandler, though not about this issue. Next year I will be stepping down from the MCC committee to become a humble duty officer of the club. In this case I would consider standing for CV committee, though I'd be reluctant to use my voting power if I joined the committee as I feel it's just plain wrong.

If I had a vote I would vote for you.

A trophies officer would basically need a hotline to Michael Baron, as hardly anyone else ever wins the top prize in Victoria chess tournaments these days.

Talking about Peter, last time I saw him back in January this year, he told me that he was considering selling his business at some stage.
He is in a great form and always willing to give a well informed opinion in all matters regarding Chess.
I look forward to see him again next time I visit Sydney for a Chess tournament!

Is Peter the chap who puts out that Australasian chess magazine? Its not a bad publication from the handful of them I have seen over the years.

No, you're thinking of Shaun Press.

Do you mean Brian Jones? I don't know, I don't really keep up with chess anymore.
