After winning a first flag it appear no junior goes to win a second flag.
(Except Bill Kerr in 1964...the Saints connection established).

Well, that might set the bookies thinking about their market for the next winner. Hard to go past BC though.

Good pick-up NINJA

So that increases the chances for CCC.

Your youngster definitely a starter I presume?

I would expect so, although he will have to make a decision about which section to play in.

While considering the new 9 day format for the U18 section a dramatic improvement as far as encouraging more players to attend , I think the same format should have been used for the U14 instead of dropping to the 5 day/ 2 games a day.

If he plays U14 I know that given 90+ to play with he will take every second game out past 3 hours and then be exhausted by half way through the next game.
So most likely U18 and see how he goes.

You pose an interesting chess decision to make; which tournament to enter?
Looks like a fundamental choice.

Perhaps he could take the Flavid Dude tactic into the U14 and play something that is more than likely to be an open game, quickly decided. (viz the Blackmar-Diemer gambit). Just a thought. Would be nice to win a title.

Yes, a title would be nice. An interesting suggestion for his coach but not sure if Blackmar-Diemer makes it into his best play book.
