I'd like to attribute this win to Ax and especially AO for teaching me to never give up Sure you may be a rook down and your king in the centre, doesn't mean anything in this game

Here's an example of why developing pieces is a good idea in the opening, otherwise your opponent might be able to sac a knight and give checkmate a few moves later

This is my first 15-minute game on ICC, I'd appreciate any comments on how I played it. Also observe that it was a leningrad (well something like it) AO I put in some notes too for the first time! (and yeah on move 37 I ment Rx not bishop takes..)

Note: My 1600 rating is the automatic provisonal one given

Smile My Thoughts

I enjoyed the Dutch Leningrad, at one time one of my mail openings. However I think the end position is lost for you and you missed the Kingside push which characterizes that opening. But all in all, not a bad effort Jaydon!

Lost for me? 37. hxg looks winning for white and even 40 hxg as I was discussing in the sb with Bobby, I just panicked cause the time was low. Ahh ok, kingside push, I better note that!

The end position is at least draw for jaydon... (he can just check on g1 and h1 if he wants) but he might even have more.... im not sure...

What do your instincts tell you?

A good SCT uses his instincts, not the position on the board which is meaningless without your instincts to interpret!

Here's a game I played today OTB with one of my mums friends from work.. It was a reasonably interesting game overall and I spent 50 minutes of my 60 which is a record by quite a bit!

15. Re1 is a blunder Jaydon. After 15... Bxc3 he wins his piece back and is up 2 pawns.

How come? After bxc3 the rook is protected by the bishop on c2 and then he has to start worrying about Bh6 and queen threats

Yeah it's funny how just because you questioned the move I started seeing the board without an f pawn and thought he was threatening things that weren't even possible.. Because I remembered that move specifically in the game I coudl've sworn it was fine so I refreshed and looked at the position again to see everything fine.. Interesting pyschology there I guess
