He had little time on the clock and explained that he didn't see f5 and thought I was winning

Ba2 against Eugene? Why not take the a4 pawn or play Bd5!

Maybe he wanted to keep the g8 square covered and Bd5 would be met with Bb7, leading to its loss.

I think its a game where poor play by LMatheson's opponent allowed him to win without too much effort.

I don't want to take the wind out of your sails but it does look like that game should have been a draw. Your opponent kind of fell into a mating net there, although you did well to get up the exchange.

I didn't need a Fritz to tell me that, white was just dominating that end game!

It was a good win for him, for sure.

I watched till move 48 and then walked away thinking you were lost.
Nice escape. Ranks with Hamilton's similar earlier in the week in the Masters.

Rxf4+ probably scared the living day lights out of him when he realised he had a serious stalemate issue , nice shot!

My apologies mate, when I made some changes today to the attachment settings your pgn file was lost. As such your game won't display.

On the plus side, as far as I can tell, this seems to be the only game that is missing and I did get to see it before I disappeared. I don't suppose you still have the pgn and could put it back up again?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best Regards,

AO
