The series is organised by Northern Star Chess (Pearl Yung) and follows on from the successful Billanook College Chess Championship Cup series in previous years. Hi everyone, Reminder about Billanook Chess Classic 2012 Now that we're coming to the end of the summer holiday tournaments, and plans are being made for the rest of the year, I thought it would be good to remind everyone about this tournament series. With $4000 in prizes on offer it will be too good to miss. See post #1 in this thread for dates. Why the name “Billanook Chess Classic”? Billanook College is the major sponsor of this tournament. They are a great supporter of chess, have arrangements for extra-curricula chess coaching in the school and encourage student participation in school chess tournaments. This series of allegro tournaments has already been running for a number of years and on-going support from Billlanook College is anticipated. So, BCC is expected to become a “classic” in the Victorian Chess Calendar. For those interested in obtaining more information about Billanook College, please see their website here. . |

Ari actually scored the most points in the series, playing all the events last year & winning a few (yes, with Sandler playing) ... Sandler also finished only two points ahead of Ian Birchall & myself, who shared 2nd in the adult section.
Northern Star Chess has results from last year's events. |
