4.4 Election of Council officers for 2012

President: Garvin Gray spoke first, presenting his President's Report, and outlining his achievements during his time as President. Mark Stokes then spoke of his intentions if elected.
Allan Menham moved: That a secret ballot be held. But the motion was not seconded.
Mark Stokes received 14 votes and Garvin Gray 0 votes (Redcliffe abstained).
Mark Stokes was therefore declared elected as President.

There was only one nomination for each of these positions, so they were elected unopposed:
Secretary: Patrick Byrom
Treasurer: Jim Rogers
Membership Secretary: Gail Young
Ratings Officer: Patrick Byrom
Tournament Officer: Garvin Gray
Junior Chess Coordinator: Michael Corner

Publicity Officer: There were no nominations for this position
Development Officer: There were no nominations for this position
