Default Blitz Interclub!

Ive got a great idea for CV or any other state association: Blitz Interclub!!!

Interclub games have always traditionally been slow games - but why not have a form of interclub for the players who love the fast form of the game? These are the players who tend to spend more of their time at clubs (well at least at my club anyway)... Matches could be done in a home and away format and after they finish players could stay on and play as much blitz as they like in a different environment with different players! Ive got 4 possible formats as to how it would work - here they are:

FORMAT ONE:

4 players per team
Each player plays every player on the opposition team 6 times (24 games in all per player)
Match lasts 4 hours
Bonus point for a 6-0 "Fischer score" win (optional)

FORMAT TWO:

6 players per team
Each player plays every player on the opposition team 4 times (24 games in all per player)
Match lasts 4 hours
Bonus point for a 4-0 win (optional)

FORMAT THREE:

8 players per team
Each player plays every player on the opposition team 3 times (24 games in all per player)
Match lasts 4 hours

FORMAT FOUR:

10 players per team
Each player plays every player on the opposition team twice (20 games in all)
Match lasts 3.5 hours

CONCLUSION

I think that my favourite would be format 2, with 6 players per team, although 4 players would also work and be easy to manage. 8 would be fine for MCC, but perhaps not so easy for smaller clubs. 10 would be too difficult and besides you only get to play each opponent twice in that format.

I vote for Format 2, followed by Format 1...

What do others think?

Could be good! There really isn't much competitive blitz on through the year.

The teams comp relies too much on organised captains supporting a team of 5 or 6 players (in my experience anyway) so if it does end up going ahead I'd consider a fixed night to play on.
