Default Playing chess tournments

Hi, I have only played 2 outside of school, someone told me about this website and I read a lot on it but I don't know if I want to play more tournaments, I read you can get banned for a year for just not finishing??? I thought it ws ok playing though. Also why do people fight so much about nothing?? Everyone in ches seems so angry, I don't understand. Why are some people so mean and some of these ppl are the president of the chess in australia?? It sounds like labour and liberal in government always fighting. Isn't chess just a game??

You'll need to rephrase that quite significantly i would think .

Just to give you an inkling as to the grossly offensive nature of that question , i direct you to : Non - Chessplayers

Please report back , with what you have learned .
Thank you ,
