Yes, the jaguars technique was atrocious there - it took him until the 5 and a half minute mark of a 6 minute game / youtube video to actually do something decisive. He needed to try to break through a bit earlier... You could tell that he was calculating well whilst stalking, but he procrastinated too much when trying to build up the position. He tried to play it a bit too cute I think.

I live in the southern part of Brunswick - pretty close to Melbourne zoo and I often take my little sons there for a walk around... When we were there today we found a contender - the Brazilian Agouti! He might be small, but Im telliing you, he looked pumped and ready to go! Rumaging around his enclosure - ready to have a crack at taking out the top prize!
Ive actually heard that he drew with both Karl Zelesco and Justin Tan over in Brazil - so some of these players had better watch out... Domagoj and The Jaguar may have him covered, but there wont be too many others who would consider themselves a shoe in against him! Paul, do you have a photo of him in action by any chance? Or a youtube video or something? Get your money on the Brazilian Agouti! He is paying $15 - 1!

The standard round-robin pairings are as follows:
Rd 1: 1-6, 2-5, 3-4. Rd 2: 6-4, 5-3, 1-2. Rd 3: 2-6, 2-6, 3-1, 4-5. Rd 4: 6-5, 1-4, 2-3. Rd 5: 3-6, 4-2, 5-1. Group A numbers are: 1. Morris 2. Dragicevic 3. Urban 4. Stead 5. Penrose 6. Dale I'm not completely sure about the other divisions, but I'm sure the players in the relevant divisions could figure it out. |

I was thinking the same thing! Probably Morris cleaned up as per usual. No one can beat that guy.

I actually managed to blunder a winning position against Dragicevic, who had his fair share of luck that tourney; Stead missed forced mate against him, Penrose was a clear pawn up for nothing until his blunder, and I blundered in a very good position. Ari Dale managed to beat him though, in a bizarre game, so we shared =1st
