I think this one just missed out on the December rating list. If I read it correctly, the entry for me shows that 8 games were played. This only accounts for the Cup Weekender.

Have you seen the updated list. It has you as playing 16 games (which would include the 8 played in the CoM) ... and it seems like you've gone up quite a bit from it!

I see! Great. A net loss of 20 points, but I'm not complaining

And neither should you . Your sole focus now needs to be on rectifying the matter .

If i could tell you a little story which may help you put things in perspective.
As you may or may not know i was in private correspondence with Axiom for some time prior to his ultimate martyristic demise . He told me about the times in the chess camps of Krasnoyarsk and his hey day as a siberian chess tiger .

He said that it was almost unheard of anyone losing rating points , as their training was so advanced . However , on the few occasions when someone was to drop points , they were ushered into bresislan gorkiananov's back office , where he had at his disposal an array of rubber hoses , tyre levers and horse whips .Ol' Gorky as Ax used to refer to him also made them combine running miles in the snow ,with only a beaver skin covering their privates , extra burn room sessions and 6 hours extra a night of rook and pawn endgame modules.

There was apparently one case of a poor chap who dropped just a handful or so points over 3 consecutive rating periods and he was found dismembered in a dumpster outside a deer meat smoking plant .

So Urbane , i hope this inspires you to arrest the decline .
