32 players have entered the tournament so far. We will be accepting late entries up to round 3. It is quite strong at the top with Richard Voon only just making the top half of the draw. And coincidentally, Richard was the first winner tonight

Full results and pairings will be on the MCC website, and some reports will be on my blog as I'm the arbiter for the event.

A big thankyou already goes to Malcolm Pyke and Pano Skiotis who worked hard accepting entries and getting the tournament ready (I was unfortunately working late tonight) and the tournament started only 10 minutes later than the scheduled 7.15pm.

The results of round 4 are now on the website

The round 5 draw will be published after the postponed game between Michael Addamo and Thai Ly on Thursday.

Thought you might like to see this position. This is from the game Addamo - Ly. Addamo has managed to turn the tables on Ly and s you can see, has the favourable position!

The continuation from this position has been gxf6, Qg3+, Kh8, Qh4, Kg7??, Kh1!

I don't know how Thai is going to hold this one.

The game ended:
h5?! Rg1+, Bg4,Rxg4, hxg4, Qxg4 with a mate on the h7 square coming up.

Good work man. I wasn't sure if you'd find Qg3-Qh4 with the amount of time left but you did!
