2010 Box Hill/Canterbury Juniors Chess Clubs New Season Swiss
The first tournament of 2010 on our Tuesday club nights. There are other bookings at the Hall every 2nd Tuesday of the month - so keep a close eye on the playing schedule! Tournament: A 6 round ratings based Swiss in two divisions. Playing dates: Round 1, February 2 Round 2, February 16 Round 3, February 23 Round 4, March 2 Round 5, March 16 Round 6, March 23 Starting times: 7.45 sharp on all playing nights. FIDE Forfeiture time: 30 minutes Ratings: All games will be ACF rated Entry fees: $15 with $15 visitors fee for non BHCC or CJCC members Prizes: $5 of each entry received will go towards the prize fund. Minimum guaranteed prize fund of $80 Rate of play: 60 minutes/player + 30 seconds/move from move one. Entries: At the club not later than 7:30pm Tuesday February 2nd or by mail: Box Hill Chess 6 Andrew Street Forest Hill 3131 Telephone: 9878-3163 You can also enter via the online entry form. We have another one. ![]() Good game Karl and well played. ![]() Well looks like your next opponent will be the great David Flude which again should be a good one to watch. Will this game be selected for DGT display is something the tournament's arbiter...

Game 1 features the eventual tourney winner vs 10yo Daniel Yuan.
Game 2 features the most improved player in Australia for Q1 2010 (went from 659 to 1001). Now pitted against a player rated 1575!! And the result? Game 3 .. not one of our classics.
