The local bookmakers have just started to field on this event, doubtless due to the topicality of the weekend and next week.

It caught my eye that as yet there are no odds being offered for individual players. Instead you can be on the Club/of/Origin of the winner.
Without much money being placed, the odds on offer are:

Even money MCC
5/2 HB&YCC
3/1 BHCC, and NPCC
7/1 Frankston, DHCC
8/1 CJCC
9/1 DCC
11/1 Croydon CC
15/1 Country CC
25/1 Ranges CC
50/1 CKCC

I wondered that too, and then I recalled
Guy West is a regular at Croydon.

Entries have started rolling in.
No surprises at the high-rated end, but plenty of interest from the young tyros.

This quote of mine brought a reaction from one of the high-rateds.
The Sandman announces he will be a player in the Vic. Blitz Championship.
The Bookies will now have to revise the odds quoted above for Elwood's chances.

Jamie Kenmure has been appointed as Arbiter.

Hi Michael, definitely the 29th! Be there
Also, Keep this coming weekend open for the MCC Allegro Championship, it will be an event to remember! See the related thread!

Perhaps we'll be playing earlier than anticipated

Michael and Michael (Tanner and Addamo)

No, this tournament and the MCC Allegro Championship do not clash. The MCC Allegro Champs is this coming weekend and this tournament is the following Sunday. You both should play in both - as they will both be very good for your chess...
