Wow, taking points from above players in blitz is really a great achievement considering your age. Well Done. I am sure your Dad would be really proud of you. Oops you took points from your Dad as well.

QUOTE FROM FRANKABLANCA

But still, I don't think Bobby's victory is an isolated event. It is rather a real reflection of the strength of Australian junior chess. We have many strong junior players who are all capable of competing at high level. We have a growing participation of junior chess programs and tournaments. We have different coaching programs catering for all levels of play.

UNQUOTE

Very good observation Frank. True indeed.

In retrospect there are some absolutely stand-out performances in this list.

Igor and Leonid on 9.5/11, when they had some tough (young)hombres shooting at them.
Deniz Tuncer, a product of MCC, but also a handful at BHCC events.
David Cannon...reliable rating of 357, and yet this is the list of who he took points from

The playoff for the Victorian BLITZ title was held at 6pm tonight during round 5 of the Victorian Juniors U18.
I must say it is one of the most engaging chess matches I have witnessed.
Mowcop was on hand to BLOG the proceedings, and I suggest you visit here to appreciate the tension, the strategy, and quick pics.
Full quality pics will be available from the zed-kid's mum in due course.

So, a State title gets decided by an armageddon finish.

I hope that both of the joint winners will be playing in the MCC Blitz Marathon! Lets see how they go playing 54 games in a day!
