hmm, I will do my very best to play in this.
The State Champs should be the flagship event in any state and I've tried to support this over the few years I've been in Australia. I congratulate the CV committee for attracting the sponsors, and in the new schedule which seems to make a lot more sense than the previous schedules

Good morning Trevor,
After a few hours of telephone and e-mail diplomacy(yesterday night) we will have Reserves tournament! At the moment I do have nine entries and still waiting to hear from a few more potential candidates. Hopefully after our(together with Katrin) trip to Croydon we will be able to release full fields and pairings for the events. Best regards, LS

This afternoon (October 4th) Chess Victoria President Katrin Wills and Croydon Chess Club President Richard Goldsmith made the pairings
for the Lexus of Blackburn Victorian Championship 2009. Here are the results. 1.L.Sandler(ACF rating 2240) 2.Wang Sheng Lee(2245) 3.D.Lindberg(1956) 4.D.Hamilton(2065) 5.M.Rujevic(2245) 6.D.Dragicevic(2118) 7.Omar Khaled Bashar (1925) 8.D.Johansen(2440) 9.M.Pyke(2065) 10.D.Hacche(2061) 11.E.Levi(2205) 12.C.Gorka(2055) Below are the first round pairings. Games will be played at Elwood Chess Club (87 Tennyson Street,Elwood)Saturday October 10th. Sandler-Gorka Wang-Levi Lindberg-Hacche Hamilton-Pyke Rujevic-Johansen Dragicevic-Bashar Starting time 1-15 pm.
