You didn't even know the main line before I told you today what it was. It's not, and will never be unsound. There's plenty of compensation for the pawn! What would have happened if you played Bf4 and he played g5!

The problem is, some people won't even consider a move like that. As far as I know, that line keeps equal material. And it's not g5, it's g5!
![]() Out of all the people you've played that line against, how many have survived it. You played it against Baron, and completely annihilated him. He didn't play g5!. You now played it against Dizadveric (or however you spell it) and you destroyed him. He didn't play g5!. Wait wait wait. Out of all the people you've played that line against, how many have played g5! ? What game theory did I ignore? Everything I use in chess today is from knowledge I've gained from higher rated people (like yourself). In particular, I went and looked into the grunfeld after you showed us it at novice night (and yes, I have used that knowledge in the rare games where I have played 1. d4). |

Chess is so much more then just the board!
Anyway, Back to a sombre note. Does anyone know if the next reserve game is on Thursday at MCC or Saturday at Elwood? The website doesn't give out enough information. cheers,
