Default blitz marathon finished

Just got home after my blitz marathon with Carl Gorka. Without wanting to sound like Im blowing my own trumpet, I managed to win the match 39.5 to 28.5 - we played 68 games in all..... Im happy with how I played, although to be fair, Im a lot more used to being awake at that time of night than Carl is... The standard of play was quite high for 5 minute games. Carl played some good games particularly on the white side of Sicilians, and I played some good ones too.

Siberian Chess Tiger, I didnt check the forum due to time restraints, so I didnt manage to play the possom - however I did play a game similar to what you have described - and won! (it was from 1. h4 - as suggested by someone on chesschat soon after my original post - dont worry people, I didnt check that forum either...)

Thanks for the suggestions! Carl actually played a Latvian Gambit in one game too - and a reverse Morra Gambit against 1. c4. We both played lots of Sicilians as black - which are always fun with either colour. Carl has the record of the openings, so he may post it tomorow.

Not sure how much money we made for the building fund, but hopefully quite a bit - and people in the pub were quite interested in the games, so hopefully MCC benefits from the publicity...

Thanks also to Elie Beranjia and Malcolm Pyke who played from midday to 5pm.

Time to go to bed, 68 games of blitz is a lot...

A forced error (as they say in tennis), or just a fortunate uncoerced error?
