Great performances by Vinay, Peter and Stephanie last night! Fludey kept on finding wins for her in the analysis room, however, in my opinion, the draw isn't that bad! to all!
I am expecting fierce comebacks by (alphabetical order)Adam, Anurag, Deniz, Kyle, Simon, Zac, today. Isaac vs Thomas and Simon vs Peter amongst others, the games to be watched.
I am impressed with the juniors manners as well as their friendly and thorough analysis after the game.
An indication of how serious they are, there was almost no transfer chess last night!
I wish James, Eugene, Laurence, Chris and Sally (sorry if I missed anyone) were playing. The tournament is great but not as strong without them!
Congratutations once again to Gerry and Trevor for being present wherever they are needed offering their services!

Well, we must admit that Fludey is a great player with tonnes of experience and knowledge but when analysing game of junior players, I believe he must get into their shoes and explain moves in a much more polite and professional manner which is acceptable to the juniors.

Yes, agree.

Agree, i hate to say this, but there are some senior players out there who while analysing games of junior players who would have lost by making a blunder towards the end game and as such frustrated. At that point in time, the last thing we expect the senior players to say is, "You should have done this, You should have done that, You are an idiot etc..etc.... My opinion would be just leave them alone for some time and when things have calmed down and the juniors realise what mistake they made, then analyse the game professionally, not just jump on them the second they have finished their game.

Absolutely true , except that parents need to make sure that they switch their mobile phones off at the venue. Poor Gerry had a hard time approaching the parents every time a mobile phone rings.

A fuller list of 'wish you were here' is here.
The green are going and the pink have stopped.

It has been an undesirable trend for a few years; hence the list in "junior chess players" to emphasize to the 'pinks' that they can only win the title when they are U18, but they can be the Doerberl winner or SIO winner at any 'old' time.
The pinks need to make hay while the sun shines.

Now I understand that some need to concentrate on studies, but those dodging the rain in the sunshine state seems a curious choice.

Tempted to add a comment but perhaps I will just settle for agreeing in full with the above comments. Most juniors struggle enough with losing without having ignorant adults rub it in. Anyone read one of the "why kids quit chess" threads lately ?
