With some of the laest computer chess programs like Rybka 3 having ratings around 3200, its doubtful any human could compete on that level. However, I don't know how they calculated a rating above 3000 for any program. They don't play grandmasters that often, so how they came up with those sky high ratings I really don't know.

Maybe they took some 2500 newly minted grandmaster and forced him to play the computer over and over again. The computer wins all 10 games losing and drawing none, so it got a 3000 plus rating that way.
