Sickeningly true. You don't see the local football/cricket/bowls team expecting a cheque on grand final day. What is wrong with chess players that they think the world owes them a bonus or a free ride.

Yes, it's true.
A lot of times I have been asked: how much profits we made during the organization of the tournament?
How much we earned in the Cantine?
Many told me that the entry fees for the tournament are expensive?
We need to understand that chess in Australia is not a Cricket or football and we all have something to sacrifise together.
If we support the people who have an interest in chess, is certainly that they will offer better service and are happy to participate in organizing the tournaments and provide better conditions for chess.

No one ever asked, Raymond Lapitan nor Douglas Williams or Nenad Chelebichanin, or me and my family how much we could earn money that we worked five days somewhere else instead organizing tournament. As community volunteers we served the finest tournament in Australia, 2010 Gold Coast Chess Festival.

People, we should support those who have their own chess business, just so we can create the future of chess.

I do not need to watch and even listen to; who said and what did, sometimes these stories are highly exaggerated and untrue.

Amir, I don't know what they are on about because your fees are very reasonable and more than competitive

Thank you AC.
The point is that chess supose to be fun for all of us. My wife, my kids and I had a lots of fun to organise such tournament.
On the end the chess palyers were not who made everything to colapse.
The last tournament. 2010 Gold Coast Chess Festival shoowed great will of Australian community to give us a support.
The Evil forces looked forward to destroy it.

Let's back to the start of the thread;

Code:
Here is another decision by CAQ perhaps last as they changed the
rule about arbiters fees,
 here we go - edited from the last meeting;
                  COUNCIL MEETING
                    MINUTES

6.2	2011 Qld Junior Championship
	The Council agreed to pay Garvin Gray $600 as arbiter
of the Qld Junior Championship.
Queensland Junior championship is in July 2011.
Does Gravin have to be all the time Arbiter for CAQ events as "REX" pointed out?

Code:
7.4	Arbiter Fees
	Moved by Michael Corner, seconded by Patrick Byrom:
	That the arbiter fee and arbiter expenses for an event
 will be set at a CAQ Council meeting before the event.
	Passed 4–1 (Garvin Gray opposed).

If that had been KB he would have abstained as the vote concerned himself.

So which resolution was the final one and does GG get the dough or not?
