Of course if you do actually want to be an arbiter, I am sure clubs like MCC will happily pay you for doing, even if you don't have a piece of paper.

cheers,

Shouldn't the ACF be promoting this and picking up the tab?

Read this somewhere: "2. Statement of Purposes

a. The purposes of the Federation are:

i. to foster and control the game of chess throughout Australia;"

An inconvenient document.

Default Pick up the tab?

As a volunteer chess organizer and administrator I have found over many years that if you want to get anything done you have to do it yourself. To think that the ACF or any state organization would step step up and pick up the tab for something like this puts you right into lala land

Maybe. However, if the Associations do not do what we expect of them, what good are they. Well, the Associations do some things - such as ratify titles - but mostly they resist change and have near zero initiative.

Remember the quote, "Lead, follow or gat out of the way." It is time the ACF executive pissed off.

P.S. Good on you for running the seminars.

That's because of who is leading the ACF. With more progressive leadership and new blood, some results could be expected.

In your dreams. The difference between having a good shit and engaging with the ACF is I don't have to talk to my shit before I flush it.

since when have not I been civil? Who are you anyway? Bloody civil! I had to get an atomic bomb out to fix up some ratings years back, no one in ACF was interested - didn't care, when NSW was doing nothing.

Those Koshinski(?) medalholders, some, I would not give you two bob for.

I remember now, I had to go to FIDE to make them jump.

See what I mean.
However to return to the thread. There are now 3 expressions of interest for the arbiters seminar.

You made no point. So, nothing proven.
You made a statement as if it was a fact. I dispute your statement.

The ACF is [insert truth that some call abuse] that needs flushing.

what are you on about, since when have I been anti-establishment chess, you make a claim and can't back it up. You refuse to identify yourself, you are gutless and a troublemaker. I would hope that the ACF could get someone more positive to do their pubicity.

I noticed that you did not attempt to answer my complaint. That speak volumes.

When you are prepared to apologise get back.

Anti-Christ is their member much more than our's. He only posts here when Kevin bans him for something silly and irrelevant.

But I agree that Iconoclast's post was somewhat uncivil.

That said one cannot always be civil when confronted by abusive individuals. We started this forum to get away from them. So what did they do? They come over here and continued attacking us - in the shoutbox and in posts. Our defending ourselves may seem uncivil, but is really only self defence.
