Members are advised that a new toy for 'the Toy Box' (aka OzChess) has been installed. This is yet another toy we have that is not available in the swamp
. From now on when a member starts a thread, all members who have viewed that thread will be displayable to the author of that thread. It a nice feature, but not revolutionary. And, because I only just installed this mod, it is not retroactive. Meaning, it only works from tonight onwards and not for past threads. Thanks, AO ps- Interesting to note that since the bots have been made Admins at the swamp, they have not had the courage to install one single new mod onto the site!

Well, if they have they haven't annouced it.
And my hydras there haven't shown anything out of the usual, same functionality as before the bots became Admins. So I am thinking, yeah, they haven't made any changes in the 2 months since they have had Admin powers. Maybe the site own won't let them because he doesn't trust them ![]() Hahah, I can't say I blame him if that's the case!

I removed a bit of the junk from the QLinks.
Specifically, there is no longer a Private Messages link there or a UserCP link there anymore. There was already a User CP Button in the Navbar - so that link was redundant anyway, and the Private Message link always existed in the Welcome Area on the leftside of the main skin - where most people likely accessed their Private Messages. More important than the removal of unecessary links from QLinks, however, is the introduction of 2 additional 'useful' links. My Posts and My Threads, as the titles entail, will show the user who clicks there all of their posts and all of the threads they have started. I hope everyone likes the additional functionality and improvement to QLinks. ![]() Best Regards AO

People may be pleasantly surprised to find that the Quick Edit box at the bottom of every thread now has the Go Advanced features of Font Selection, Smilies, Sizes, Undo Button, etc. in the toolbar.
This required a few template changes by myself, thankfully it seems as though I made all the right ones - although I had guidance. ![]() I hope members enjoy the new features, and also I should probably mention that unlike other forums running on vB 3.5.4, you DO NOT need to click the Quick button in order to start typing text in the Quick Edit area. Just click with your mouse in the Quick Edit area if you want to use it. If you want to quote someone, however, then you would need to click the Quick button. Thanks, AO ps - An unintended side effect of my changes is that when someone now edits their post, they no longer have to hit Go Advanced to have extra options like font selection on the toolbar

Thanks Calvin.
Kevin Bonham isn't so pleased, however. He called the newest feature a 'technical turd'. Ironic, as this term could often be used to describe him ![]() Best Regards, AO

I merged antichrist's thread relating to the swamp into the Bullying on Chess Chat thread. As both threads dealt with pretty much the same subject matter, this seemed sensible.

I also changed the wording for the highlighting option. If you see a little yellow H when making a post, click it now to see what it says
