At Chess Chat there have been 60 banning notices in the last 60 weeks.
By their deeds you will know them.

Considering one of your fellow moderator once stated that he would eat his shirt (or words to that effect) if OzChess ever had even 10% of CC's numbers, the fact we are at above 55% (based on this random weekly snapshot) means I guess he should eat his pants and socks as well! ![]() Also, as CC has previously held ppd numbers around 100 ppd, the drop and corresponding increase on OzChess likely mean we have simply stolen CC's thunder (and posters )

I just noticed this disingenuous post by Kevin on CC which tries to humbugs our forum's continued and impressive growth.

In any event, the calculation of OzChess / (OzChess + CC) giving OzChess 29% of overal market share, and leaving 71% with CC is only half the story. If the calculation is (OzChess / Chess Chat X 100) than we find we are approximately 40 to 50% of their size. Certainly that more alarming statics did not escape Kevin, he just decided not to report on it.

TB?
= Terrific Blokes or = Total Bastards It does not really matter. The fact that it is nothing like Oz/OC/them/Overthere/competition/BB#2, shows him to be a frightened little boy with fewer friends every year. Let us hope he does not hit us with his ruler.

Reality seems to be hitting CC with a metal ruler.
Basic lesson for them to learn is this: Lousy Moderating / Lack of Investment for Years / Dwindling Membership Base / Too Many Loud Mouths = Declining Fortunes.

So if we constrast this to OzChess where I have the highest post per day rate of 4.19, we would find that it would affect Chess Chat far more than OzChess, with a loss of at least 50 posts per day for Chess Chat - and 20 at the most for OzChess. What I would like to see is how many separate posters made a contribution (even one post) within the last month, as this would provide a guide to how big each forum's poster base is. I am no longer prepared to accept that Chess Chat has the bigger poster base.

As we have Cyb Advanced Forum Statistics, I simply changed the setting in more results for Top Posters to 65. In the last 30.3 days, a total of 62 different posters made at least one post on OzChess (there were 3 empty slots). I have left the results so CC staticians can verify. This means our average monthly poster base is 62 ![]() I have my doubts whether Chess Chat's poster base this past month is as big as that.

I would have just like to have seen a bit more of that creative spirit in those posts , the same joie de vivre that we have grown to know and love from the a/c.
