Can you please provide an example to illustrate?

Apparantly for September we were at more than a third (33.3%), but less than 50% of the other chess forum - so still a very strong result ![]() I credit our new young moderators and all of their hard work for the upswing!

Updated Post Per Day Statistics complied from the Admin CP, divided by number of days in month. September was a particularly good month for us (possibly best ever, definitely best for 2009)

As we can see, the forum is simply continuing to grow, and grow, and grow. ![]()
Just kidding , with CC moderation scaring everyone away - its really little wonder why OzChess continues to grow rapidly!
Last Friday at 5:10pm I was curious to know what Chess Chat's post per day stats were, so I took the following snap shot and compared with a snap shot today. Unfortunately, I didn't make it back precisely at 5:10pm today to obtain a perfect random weekly stat report, but only about 2 hours overtime I don't think significantly affects the accuracy.
The results seem to show a dramatic decline in CC's post per day rate, and this is likely accounted for by the inactivity of the Toolbox Detox thread (which generated roughly 10-20 posts per day when they were frothing at the mouth over us ), the unecessary banning of Axiom (and loss of not only his posts, but also the related interaction he had with other posters), and lastly, the frequent bannings of antichrist. Also, perhaps a general shift by posters from CC to OzChess due to the additional functionality, civilness, and better posters to interact with - likely also accounts for the numbers below. __________________________________________________ Chess Chat - Posts: 249,843 - 5:10pm (Friday 13 Nov) Correspondence - 13,361 __________________________________________________ Chess Chat - Posts 250,543, - 6:50pm (Friday 20 Nov) Correspondence - 13,586 __________________________________________________ .250,543 -249,843 _______ . . . . 700 Total Posts in Past 8 days (Friday to Friday) Of that 700, there were 225 Correspondence Game Posts in Past 8 days (Friday to Friday) ______________________ .700 -225 ___ 475 Posts at CC over 8 days (475/8) = 59.37 posts per day on Chess Chat (Friday to Friday) By comparison, on OzChess since last 13 November to 19 November (the stats for 20 Nov aren't in yet), we had 225 posts, (225/7) = 36.43 posts per day, roughly two thirds of Chess Chat's volume! If this trend continues, it won't be long before OzChess completely supplants Chess Chat as Australia's most popular chess forum. ![]()

However 13th Nov till the 19th Nov is 6 days not 7. So it is 225/6 = 37.5 |

My using 6 was based on same times on the days 13th- 19th November but that is wrong since in your case here on Ozchess you are counting full days via the admin stats panel so it is 7 days, not 6 days. So your posts per day figure for the 13th - 19th November is 225/7 = 32.14.

Do you see the pattern Ax. Join the dots? Not a random start date to bannings at all.
