Yeah, since you can't really do anything as a guest apart from talk in channel 1, I'd sign up for an account if I were to really use ICC - doesn't cost that much and much more time effective than continuously reinstalling windows, which could be rather annoying after a few times.

ICC i believe is excellent value for money at about 20 cents per day .

FICS is inclusive. Inclusive is good.
Also, arguing about this or that service/interface is petty. It is like arguing about the shade of white of the light squares. Just get your kit on and line up.
